Comparison

Flishbook compared to the others

Tricount, Splitwise, Splid or a shared spreadsheet — each has its strengths. Here's where Flishbook makes the difference, and where it isn't trying to win.

Flishbook isn't built for a simple weekend away with friends. For a trip you settle on the way home, Tricount or Splitwise do the job perfectly: you split the costs, you even up, you forget about it.

Flishbook is made for groups that last — a flatshare, a couple, an association, an informal collective — where money keeps moving month after month. One treasurer can run the whole thing alone, tuck the balance into vaults, call for dues, have large expenses approved and close a project out, all recorded in an audit trail. If your group still exists in six months, this page is for you.

How to read this table

"Yes" means the feature is native and ready to use. "Partial" means it exists but in a limited, worked-around or paid-only form — the note after the dash says which. "No" means there's no direct equivalent.

We aimed to be fair rather than flattering. A shared spreadsheet, for instance, can do almost anything "by hand" — which is why you'll often read "Partial — manual". The real question isn't what's possible, but what the tool keeps up to date for you without effort.

Where the others still shine

For a trip or a night out, Tricount is disarmingly simple: open it, share it, settle up. Nothing to fault.

Splitwise has native iOS and Android apps, a huge user base (your friends may already be on it) and an offline comfort the web can't yet match. Splid also stands out with a polished app and account-free use for travel groups.

Several of these tools handle travel multi-currency, receipt scanning (OCR) and automatic exchange rates — handy on holiday abroad. Flishbook is a website (no native app yet) and targets lasting groups rather than one-off trips. If that's your need, those tools remain excellent choices.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my data from Tricount or Splitwise?

There's no automatic import for now. Most groups that switch open a fresh fund and enter an opening balance to start even — it takes just a few minutes. You can keep the CSV export from your old tool as a reference archive.

Is it really free?

Yes. One fund with up to 10 members is free for life, with no ads and no credit card. To open several funds or go beyond 10 members, the flish+ subscription is pay-what-you-want: you choose the amount.
