The questions we get asked.
Everything a newcomer wonders before creating their first pool. Short, honest answers — if something's missing, write to us at hello@flishbook.com.
Is it really free?
Yes. One pool with up to 10 members is free for life, no card and no time limit. For more pools or members, the flish+ subscription is pay-what-you-want: you decide what you pay.
Do I need to create an account?
To open a pool, an email is all it takes — and you can even start with no account at all, then attach your email later. No password to remember.
Do the other members have to sign up?
No. They join the pool by scanning a QR code, without creating an account. And if someone doesn't want to set up anything at all, the treasurer can add them and enter their expenses for them.
How do you log in without a password?
You enter your email, we send you a one-time code, you type it in — you're in. Nothing to memorise, nothing to reset.
Does Flishbook pay on my behalf?
No. Flishbook isn't a payment service and never moves any money. It keeps the ledger, works out who owes what and tells you which transfers to make — which you settle between yourselves, as usual.
Is my data sold?
Never. No ads, no tracking, no reselling. We only process what makes the app work: your declared identity, your email, your expenses and your balances. Flishbook is published in Switzerland.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can export your accounts as CSV whenever you like. You can request access, correction or deletion via hello@flishbook.com — deletion anonymises your identity while preserving the group's accounting balance.
Does it work for a club or association?
Absolutely. Dues and receivables, expense approval by threshold and signatories, vaults (envelopes), categories, reports, CSV export and year-end closing: it's a real ledger, not just bill-splitting.
How many people per pool?
Up to 10 members on the free pool. Beyond that, the pay-what-you-want flish+ subscription lifts the limit, both per pool and on the number of pools.
Is there a mobile app?
Flishbook is a web app that works great on mobile, right in your browser — nothing to install. There's no native iOS or Android app yet.
